As Battle residents elected Cllr Chris Maskell, Cllr Gul Khan and I, they have every right to know what we have been doing for them. We publish a newsletter 3-4 times a year and deliver it to every household in the ward. Here's the latest edition on Into Battle. Click on the picture for the full pdf:
I am proud about what Labour councillors have achieved for Battle Ward. You can see more of what we've been up to in the In The Press tab above.

Welcome to my blog. I am using it to keep you updated on my work as a councillor for Battle ward, Chair of the Art and Heritage forum and an activist for Unite the Union. I cover the issues affecting Battle ward and Reading residents. There may also be the occasional random post about things I am interested in.

Teeyan Exhibition: a morning of dance and colour!
I was delighted when a local resident invited me to the opening of the Teeyan exhibition at the Indian Community Centre. Teeyan in a traditional Punjabi festival for women. I was also joined by Cllr Chris Maskell, Mayor Marian Livingston & our parliamentary candidate Victoria Groulef.
The exhibition runs at the Indian Community Centre until 18 June:
The event started off with dance which was performed with great skill as the dancers were balancing pots on their heads! I was pleased as punch to be invited up to have a dance. I had no idea what I was doing but it was lovely to join in. Here are a few pictures from the event:
